Solar intensity maps: https://glfc.cfsnet.nfis.org/mapserver/pv/index.php?lang=e
http://rredc.nrel.gov/solar/calculators/PVWATTS/version1/ This is a tool to estimate the energy generated by a PV system. It has data for Ottawa.
http://canmetenergy-canmetenergie.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/eng/renewables/standalone_pv/publications/2006046.h This document is about the maps and data for the Canadian Solar Intensity maps, and assumptions in the models. It explains the kWh/kw values used in the tables, and how this is related to installation efficiency.
A good reference book on the subject of PV solar syetems is:
“Photovoltaic Systems 2nd edition” by James P Dunlop. This is $CDN 107.50 at amazon.ca and $114.95 at Chapters.
This book is written for the US market, and has nothing specific to the Ontario net metering program.
HomePower Magazine. This is a good resource for off-grid solar instalations, wind power and many other related topics. It has been published for over 20 years, and back issues are available. It is no longer printing new issues.
A good government study of net metering in Ottawa is found at https://coenergy.coop/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/OREC-Net-Metering-Report.pdf
